Our city has always been a thriving community for businesses local and global alike: Houston is home to nearly 100,000 small businesses with 500 or less employees (~85% of which have 20 or less employees), also while the second-most Fortune 500 companies in the country are based within our city limits. Houstonians are known for their hustle, entrepreneurial spirit and shooting for the stars - who better to learn from than a successful Space City business owner?

HoustonBusiness.Academy was founded in May 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic that's reported to have permanently closed over 100,000 small businesses across the country and caused 90% of Houstonian small businesses to lose substantial revenue. During a time of loss and uncertainty, Houston Business Academy strives to be as a helpful platform for business leaders of all professions within our community.

Davis Mendoza Darusman is the founder and head director of HoustonBusiness.Academy, in addition to serving as the co-owner of a Houston-based alcoholic startup company, SpritzKits Refreshments, alongside his fiancee Fryda Gonzalez. As the technical producer for all video lectures and podcasts on this site, Davis' prior experience as a certified freelance videographer and station director for the University of Houston's student radio will ensure quality recorded content with every lesson.
